Blightster, the new lamp container Rodrigo Alonso

Looking to eliminate the footprint of the packaging, expensive and not very sustainable eco, the eclectic and imaginative designers Chilean Rodrigo Alonso has designed a lamp constituted by its own packaging. Blightster is a kind of do-it-yourself kit that comes in a container thermoformed PVC rigid.

The container, once assembled all electrical components becomes “latest lamp”, practical, functional and easy to assemble, ready to illuminate everything you want. After seeing other solutions of this kind, then regardless of originality, Blightster remains a major project precisely because of its simplicity.

The young graphic designer Matt Burvill has created a wonderful series of images related to a project called “Grafik + Channel 4″, prepared for a competition. The request was to take a common object and transform it to your liking, in this case the designer has used chairs foderate, has carved on them the forms of animals and nature and then documented everything with photographs.

The “figurines” come to life inside and outside of the object, to recreate the compositions clean and pleasant. The simplicity of the concept makes this small graphic design worthy of note. The result of these photographs were carrying out various posters.

Browsing on Designspotter I noticed the aquarium designed by the young Canadian designer Teddy Luong. What at first glance looks like a modern apartment windows all, is a nice aquarium 19 × 19×21cm, easy to transport and beautiful to watch that can be stacked to compose a kind of aquatic condominium in which to lodge species of fish is better not to take too close.

From Kampala in Helsinki, the young industrial designer Kayiwa Lincoln, with his company KAYIWA dedicated to the design of innovative design, aesthetically attractive and functional. One example is the clip Tukaani, a device inspired by the Eastern rods, with a suggestive name that evokes the becchettare of birds, Toucan in Finnish. In a culture increasingly culinary fusion, enriched by the cultural contamination, the new laid becomes an ideal instrument to enjoy the essence.

The elegant design and flessuoso of Tukaani, made in silver worked by hand, facilitates the grip of the hand through the opaque surface and especially thanks to the spring that stabilizes the taking and becomes a practical eyelet to keep or appenderla. What strikes of Tukaani is not its originality, as the simplicity so elegant and functional issues.

I am always very azzeccati and functional projects like this study developed by Morph means a number of accessories for the table that can be assembled to obtain a compact object and which occupies little space.

Designed thinking of the reduced spaces contemporaries, this item for the table proposes a series of containers of various shapes, sizes and colors that can play different functions. Once finished using the various containers will be sufficient riporli one inside the other saving so much space.

For breaks appetising in line with our karma, the young British designer Marina Lecade designed Popup Delights, a practice suitcase structured as a pop-up book that deployed un’accattivante and functional kit for lunch. Just open the suitcase, placed in a small corner apparecchiato with decorations customizable, with compartments for food, glass and cutlery. A project modern and cosmopolitan, which is inspired by the philosophy and all’estetica packaging Eastern Europe.

After a childhood, widely shared, based on Japanese cartoons, movies and games dell’orrore ‘lively ex-Canadian kids Gary Lachance, Chris Noble and Mike Comeau, have collected their drawings sanguinolenti made during the school years in Death Pits, a book published by TV Books in New York. Death Pits is an exact reproduction of a notebook shared by three boys of the first media around the early 80s, which have collected 33 well drawings full page of places of torture super complicated, played with wax crayons and colored pencils, on the back of notes of lessons and tasks at home.

There is even a detailed list of ideas for the torture written in pencil, and as a macabre filastrocca reads: Cup of tea boiling Mollette laundry Squeeze ghiaccioli Freezing-tank full of lava rake Stuzzicadenti Mazza Pencils Pickaxe Knives Pale helicopter Stelline Ninja of Stapling Compass beer Forca gardening Roll compressor steam Wheels tank Temperamatite Oven machine sewing Meat Grinder Puntine drawing Darts, with a bell Raising of bees marked the end with the red pen. A unique book that shows the adolescent catharsis, when each of us developing imaginative ways to redress the injustices daily.

After a long selection of well-1900 posters, designed by 1257 graphic designers, illustrators, architects and photographers from 70 countries, the attentive jury of the competition Ten Images for Ithaca 2008, has finally announced the finalists, who drew up the theme of dream in its endless declinations, as a resource, route of escape, desire, function almost mathematical method for processing images and emotions random or tangible. On July 12 the ten winners and 123 finalists will be legendary in Ithaca, for the awards ceremony, which will inaugurate the exhibition exhibition of projects, characterized by an eclectic approach, multidisciplinary and contemporary.
